SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS
Note: We recommend that all clients purchase a computer with a network card and high speed internet access (no modem).
The number of dialers in the table below is the number of dialers on the same computer. If you have each dialer on a separate computer, follow the requirements for 1 dialer.
| Requirement | 1 Dialer | 2 Dialers | 3 Dialers | 4 Dialers
| | processor speed | 1 GHz | 1 Ghz | 1.5 Ghz | 1.5 GHz
| | RAM | 128 MB | 128 MB | 256 MB | 256 MB
| | Analog telephone lines | 8 | 16 | 24 | 32
| | Single line analog telephones | 6 | 12 | 18 | 24
|
Note: We recommend that you exceed the above requirements for optimum performance.
The computer MUST ALSO contain the following:
- 20 GB Hard drive with at least 1G free for the install (plus phonebooks and possible call logging information)
- CD-ROM
- Mouse
- Windows 9x/NT/ME/2000/XP
- A 9-pin serial port
- A UPS (Uninterruptable Power Supply, a.k.a. battery backup) with AVR (Automatic Voltage Regulation) or line conditioning to power the dialer, the computer, the monitor and the printer. We recommend the APC BACK-UPS PRO 280 or higher - see APC's Web site)
Technical Notes:
- We recommend that the computer have a network card and high speed internet access (Note: no modem).
- If you wish the dialers to dial separate campaigns (i.e. dial from different phonebooks), you MUST purchase a second computer into which you can connect the new dialer. Only one phonebook can be open within Rapid Contact at a time, and all the dialers that are connected to that computer will dial from the open phonebook.
- In order to have multiple dialers connected to a single computer, that computer must have two or more working 9-pin comports. If you need an extra comport installed, or require an expansion comport card, please have a local computer technician install and test these new components. You can have a maximum of four dialers plugged into one computer.
Running Multiple Dialers
There are two options when running multiple dialers, and different system requirements for each:
- If you wish the dialers to dial separate campaigns (i.e. dial from different phonebooks), you MUST purchase a second computer into which you can connect the new dialer. Only one phonebook can be open within Rapid Contact, and all the dialers that are connected to that one computer will dial from that one open phonebook. Having each dialer on a separate computer is the only way you will be able to dial into different areas at the same time.
- In order to have multiple dialers connected to a single computer, that computer must have two or more working 9-pin comports. If you need an extra comport installed, or require an expansion comport card, please have a local computer technician install and test these new components. You can have a maximum of four dialers plugged into one computer.
