Step 16

The next step is the Dial Tone Verification test.

Since the telephone cables were connected in Step 7, click Next. Wait to see if all the phone lines that are connected to the dialer are working and connected properly. You will be prompted with a message saying which lines passed and which lines failed.

Write down the numbers of any lines that failed and click OK to continue. If any lines did fail, you must check the phone lines manually. If all the lines have passed, move on to Step 17.

To test for bad phone lines, disconnect each phone line for which the "No Dial Tone" message appeared from the bottom row of the dialer and connect it to a manual telephone.

Then pick up the receiver on the telephone and listen for dial tone. If you hear dial tone, try to make a call out on that phone. If you cannot hear dial tone or make a call out there is a problem with your telephone line and you must have it repaired.

The next step is the DTMF Chip Test which tests the internal hardware of the dialer. None of the lines should fail in this test. If any do, call MarkeTel Technical Support for more help.
