New US federal telemarketing laws have taken effect.
New US federal telemarketing laws have taken effect today. A lot has changed in the FTC Telemarketing Sales Rule and Marketel's Rapid Contact 6.102 software is 100% complaint.
The major things to note with the new rules and regulations are:
- The need for a "Do Not Call" list.
- Your Abandoned Rate must be below 3%.
- You must let the phone ring 15 seconds or 4 rings.
- When a telemarketer is unavailable the client cannot be on hold for more than 2 seconds unless passed to a messaging device which contains your company name and phone number. No sales pitch of any kind can be in this message.
