The key tone configuration refers to the way telemarketers record
call results. After a telemarketer completes a call he or she presses one of
the ten numbers on the dial pad of the telephone handset to indicate the result
of that call. This information is automatically stored for record keeping. You
decide what each key tone means and whether a particular key tone result should
be called back later or not. Here is an example of a simple key tone configuration:
Key Tone Configured - Meaning - Action
 |
1 - Lead - Call Completed |
 |
2 - Decision Maker Not Home - Call at a Later Time
|
 |
3 - Never call again (angry) - Add to Skip List
|
 |
4 - Not Interested - Call Completed |
Up to ten key tones may be configured with various meanings.
All of which, you define to meet you specific business needs.
Capturing leads or sales
You may generate a report of all customers marked with a particular key tone. This report can then be used
to print mailing labels, print invoices, or even generate customized letters for all sales/leads for each day!
If telemarketers are processing only a few transactions per
hour, it may make sense to have telemarketers process orders using whatever
method is currently being used. Creating an automated processing method is always
an option and is best implemented after management has become more familiar
with the system.
